Are you struggling to cope with the physical, emotional, and spiritual impact of chronic illness or chronic pain?
If you’re new here, my name is Esther Smith. I am a licensed and Christian counselor and I work with people who feel stuck in experiences of chronic pain, chronic illness, anxiety, and trauma.
I also personally know what it is like to live with chronic health challenges. Over the past few years, I have experienced how much Christian-based meditation helps me cope with my symptoms, and I’m excited to offer an online class to teach you what I have learned.
People living with chronic illness experience two types of pain. The first type is the physical pain or other symptoms associated with the condition. The second type is the emotional, mental, and spiritual pain that results from how we perceive and respond to our physical suffering. That secondary pain is what I want to help you with.
When your pain or illness flares, you need tools and strategies to help you cope. If your list of tools feels lacking, I hope you will join me for an online meditation class to learn powerful strategies you can draw on anywhere at anytime.
These will include:
- Scripture meditation and guided prayer to keep you spiritually focused and encouraged.
- Meditation techniques to help you cope with symptom flares, emotional overwhelm, and painsomnia.
- Breathing and other body-based practices to help you reduce tension and calm an overactive nervous system.
- Powerful coping skills to help you manage stress and change unwanted thoughts.
These powerful tools decrease secondary pain. As secondary pain decreases, some people find their physical symptoms improve as well. This is because less emotional and spiritual pain means less muscle tension and a calmer nervous system. In this state, our bodies are better able to handle the pathologies or structural problems that caused or contributed to our conditions in the first place.
I hope you will join me for a series of live online classes on select Fridays at 1PM EST. You can access the first class on Friday September 3rd for FREE. If you can’t make the live class time, you can register and receive a recording of the class that will be available for one week of unlimited viewing.
Details about future Friday classes will be provided. There is no long term commitment–you can register for each class separately.
While the class is tailored for people living with chronic pain and chronic illness, anyone who wants to learn more about Christian-based meditation is welcome to attend. Register below or click here to register through the Eventbrite event page.
**By registering, you acknowledge that this is a meditation class, not a support or therapy group.
